Whomp Burger & Brew will introduce their new burger concept to Ocean Beach, taking over the former Sundara restaurant space on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard. The burger spot will neighbor the relocated Vili’s Health Bar and The Olive Tree Market. Their space comes equipped with a small amount of seating inside, with additional outdoor space to accommodate additional tables.
Their intro post on Instagram shares, “After working in the service industry for years, we combined our knowledge of good food, cold beverages and excellent customer service and started a place of our own.”
Co-Owner Brenna Olsen, along with husband Sean Olsen and friends/Co-Owners Mandy and Brian Freye combined their wealth of experience in bartending, serving, marketing, and restaurant management to build the new burger brand.
Brenna Olsen also owns Cheap Restaurant Graphics, which designed the 90s-inspired Whomp Burger logo. Olsen tells What Now San Diego we can expect a straightforward menu of juicy burgers, Chicken Sandwiches, and Grilled Portobello Sandwiches. Plus wings, fries, and tots on the side.
The Whomp Group are finalizing the beer and wine options to pair with the grub. With 8 tap handles, Olsen hopes to bring in some local beers, booch, and seltzers to give customers options.
Whomp Burger & Brew have their opening projected for March 2022. Follow them on Instagram for details and updates.
