Octavio Tequila, a small-batch tequila company from Solana Beach, is behind a new bar and restaurant heading to the Gaslamp/East Village area. Casa Octavio is slated to open in the former WhipHand space at 935 J Street, just steps from Petco Park.
We don’t know much about the new space just yet but Casa Octavio will specialize in Tequila and Mezcal craft cocktails. The new spot looks to take cues from its parent brand Octavio Tequila, mixing Baja-inspired beach culture with the delicate craft of tequila-making.
Octavio Tequila has been awarded by the San Diego Spirits Festival, and the brand partakes in various music festivals and regularly presents local pop-up parties throughout San Diego.
The menu for Casa Octavio hasn’t been released yet but the Octavio Tequila Website might give us a hint to what we might find behind the new bar. Cocktail recommendations include the Spicy Watermelon Margarita, Tequila Mojito, and a Skinny Coconut Lime Margarita.
What Now San Diego has reached out to Owner Cole Mueller for an update and will share as information becomes available. Casa Octavio is expected to open in Spring 2022. Follow their Instagram for more information.
