Korean-inspired BBQ bowl restaurant BBQ+Rice is opening two new locations in Los Angeles.

The first one is coming to Silver Lake, located at 1110 N. Virgil Ave., while another location is opening in Downtown Los Angeles, located at 700 S. Los Angeles St. The two new locations will double the number of sites for the restaurant, which are currently found in WeHo and EaHo. Owner Matthew Kim, who previously worked with longtime friend Kwang Hu to open the now-closed Baroo, opened the flavorful restaurant in 2018. Now, Kim is ready to open two new restaurants, both expected to open in Spring or Summer 2022.

The downtown location will move into the ground floor of the Santee Court Apartments, while the 1,050 square foot Silver Lake location will sit within SV Plaza at the corner of the well-trafficked N. Virgil and Santa Monica Blvd. Both new stores will continue to serve the demanding flavors that Kim has created with this fast-growing micro chain.

BBQ+Rice specializes in Korean dishes that are authentic, contemporary, and full of flavor. Some of their menu highlights include a bulgogi rice bowl, a spicy pork bowl, and black pepper chicken. Their specialty, the galbi Bowl, is made with braised short ribs and vegetables. Guests can add their signature Korean Fried Chicken to complete any meal.
