Don’t fret New York, the Chelsea Market’s favorite creperie is gearing up for a grand revival.

Bar Suzette is a New York creperie that is focused on creating innovative and delicious crepes that are inspired by the flavors of the world, yet sourced from local farms. Founded in 2009 by Peter Tondreau and Troi Lughod, the two began by opening up a small pop-up creperie in Flatiron, and then another one in Union Square. Quickly, their crepes became so popular that customers demanded a more permanent opening, and the team soon found themselves operating a new creperie in the Chelsea Market seven days a week..

While Bar Suzette enjoyed nearly a decade of success in the Chelsea Market, the Covid-19 pandemic sadly complicated their relationship and the space eventually closed down. Many fans remained unaware of the closure, visiting the space and then leaving disappointing reviews noting their inability to find their favorite crepes. Thankfully, those fans are now in for a big surprise, as Bar Suzette will once again be opening up in the Chelsea market.

Bar Suzette will be opening up in a new Chelsea Market kiosk at 75 Ninth Avenue in Suites 01A5A and 01A5B. The space will feature a simple standing bar with 15 seats but no additional tables. While the previous Bar Suzette had its own beer and wine license, the team is currently in the process of applying for a full liquor license. To accommodate the change, the team is proposing new operating hours of 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM Monday through Saturday, and 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM on Sunday. While it is still not clear when the new Bar Suzette will open to the public, you can follow the creperie on Instagram for further updates.
