UPDATE (Feb. 16, 2012): Starbucks to replace Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin-Robbins on Ponce de Leon Avenue

The Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins brand has shuttered its Ponce de Leon Avenue location.

An off-duty cop told What Now Atlanta on a trip to the location Tuesday, it will be replaced by Starbucks.

The doughnut and ice cream shop duo closed after passing on lease renewal due to financial hardships, he said.

Stewart Miller, leasing agent for Midtown Place, told What Now Atlanta over the phone Tuesday that several tenants were in negotiation for the space. He could not confirm or deny Starbucks’ intent to open there.

The Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins is located inside the Midtown Place shopping center across from the soon-to-be developed Ponce City Market.

Midtown Place is a 256,712-square-foot anchored by The Home Depot, PetSmart, Staples and Whole Foods. Borders Books & Music, one of its larger tenants, is going out of business.
