The Foothill Trails District Neighborhood Council’s land-use committee on Tuesday will review and possibly vote on plans by a Chicago-based company to develop an approximately 137,000-square-foot self-storage project in northeast Pacoima, its meeting agenda shows.

The planned three-story project is being proposed by Banner Real Estate Group, a nationwide multifamily and self-storage developer, and it would replace a single-family dwelling at 12121 Foothill Boulevard, a 2-acre site just south of the Interstate 210 freeway.

Other structures that would be demolished for the proposed self-storage project include a garage, carport, and barn, according to this week’s agenda.

Designed by Chicago-based project architect SGW Architecture & Design, plans call for a 44-foot-tall development including 1,280 storage units, 15 parking spaces, and space for 28 bicycles.

The project site’s current owner, Lakeview Terrace Holdings LLC, will sell the property to an unspecified buyer, with Banner to work alongside a future operator of the facility, according to plans filed last year.

The general contractor for the planned project is listed as ARCO.
