Ono Hawaiian BBQ is preparing to open a new restaurant in the High Desert, at 2843 Lenwood Road in Barstow, the company’s website revealed. The site is listed as “coming soon”; however, there is no information available on a timeline for an opening date.

Not many other details are available at this time, and the brand did not respond to a request for comment. However, construction bidding documents seem to confirm a project is in the works at the site, with a job valuation between $200,000 and $300,000.

The upcoming location will take over for a former Fatburger location. It’s in a retail center right off the 15 freeway, with neighboring tenants Jersey Mike’s Subs and Starbucks. While specifics for the space are unclear, Ono Hawaiian BBQ’s corporate site selection criteria typically call for a space of around 2,000 square feet.

This is the latest step in an aggressive expansion campaign in SoCal that the corporation has been on lately. What Now OC has followed a wave of openings in recent years, including Jurupa Valley, Murrieta, San Bernardino, Anaheim, Highland, and Temecula.

  • That’s great but they don’t want the fatburger old, decrepit store! They need to open a new building up here not revamp something that has craped out up here!
