As the hotly-anticipated Hotel Indigo nears completion at 50 Trinity Place, more information is coming out about the new restaurant planned for the ground floor.

Hotel Indigo is one of the newest developments to call the Financial District home. Having begun construction in 2014, the hotel is being developed by FIT Investment Corporation and is designed by Peter Poon Architects. Now, as the hotel nears completion after years of development, new details are emerging about the space and its planned restaurant concept.

The new Hotel Indigo is envisioned as a loving tribute to the neighborhood’s rich and multicultural history. Juxtaposed between the neighborhood’s cobblestone covered streets and Alexander Hamilton’s own Trinity Church, the pet-friendly 180-room hotel is nestled at the very crossroads of culture, where some of New York’s most important events have taken place. With no shortage of local attractions and nightlife, Hotel Indigo is the perfect place to recharge with stunning views overlooking the New York skyline and Hudson River.

As part of the hotel’s tribute to the neighborhood’s origin as New Amsterdam, the ground floor of the hotel will feature a brand new American restaurant with Dutch influences called Half Moon. Established by owner Kira Munson, Half Moon is envisioned as a fusion between a traditional Dutch Pub and a New American restaurant that will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner to locals and hotel guests alike.

Half Moon will be occupying the ground floor of the Hotel Indigo, and will feature its own designated street entrance, separate from the hotel. The establishment features a total of 1,229 square feet of space, including a 944 square foot dining area and a 285 square foot bar. At the moment, Kira and her team are in the process of acquiring a full liquor license for the space, and are proposing operating hours of 6:00 AM – 12:00 AM every day, seven days a week. Breakfast will be available for hotel guests and visitors, and the team is also hoping to provide happy hour specials for locals working in the neighborhood. At the moment, they are shooting for a September 1st launch date, but that date is always subject to change according to potential delays in the hotel’s construction.
