Sushi Concept To Replace Melvin Brewing in East Village

Details are trickling in on what will become of the former Melvin Brewing space which was vacated in early 2020. According to a recent permit filing, the 5,649 square foot restaurant space at Market and 14th Streets in the East Village will be taken over by DreamPeer Inc

The company DreamPeer Inc. is headed up by Co-Owners Ayaka Ito and Masaki Yamauchi, of neighboring restaurant BESHOCK Ramen. Expanding their portfolio of restaurants, DreamPeer Inc. intends to introduce a sushi concept in the neighborhood they’ve been operating in since 2016. 

BESHOCK Ramen and Sake Bar specializes in authentic Japanese cuisine complemented by their wide range of sake options. Ayaka Ito holds a certification in kikizakeshi, a Sommelier of Sake. 

Ito shares her love for sake exploration and education with San Diegans at the annual San Diego Sake Festival, celebrated on International Sake Day. Ito shares, “This year I collaborated with the Japan Society of San Diego and we are very excited to host the biggest Sake Tasting Festival in SoCal!” The event will take place on Saturday, October 8th, 2022 at Ruocco Park, for tickets and information visit their Website
