Family-owned restaurant Roberto’s Taco Shop looks to be adding another location to their lineup of over 70 restaurants. According to a new permit filing, Roberto’s is planned to take over the now-closed Loma Bonita Taco Shop near Shelter Island.
According to commercial real estate firm Commercial Asset Advisors, the 1,056-square-foot building was due to receive a renovation this year. The 70s-era site stands a block away from the waterfront and comes with ample parking and outdoor seating.
Founded in 1964 by the Robledo Family, Roberto’s Taco Shop has grown to 77 locations across San Diego plus additional spots in Texas and Nevada.
Co-Owner Jose Robledo tells What Now San Diego that after a year-long delay, Roberto’s Taco Shop opened its doors in Rancho Bernardo last week. Now his brother and co-owner Reynaldo Robledo is due to open the Shelter Island location.
An opening date for the harbor-adjacent Roberto’s Taco Shop is yet to be announced and is in its initial stages of permitting. Find your nearest Roberto’s Taco Shop location by visiting their Website.
