The Marine Room announced their temporary closure beginning yesterday through the end of the month. During their closure, the waterfront destination restaurant will make renovations and updates to their dining room and menu.
The award-winning restaurant dates back to 1941 and is part of the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club. Known for its seaside views and waves splashing up against the windows, The Marine Room has long served as a landmark fine dining experience.
Now the La Jolla classic will prepare to usher The Marine Room into a new era. The art rendering shared on social media shows a contemporary coastal designed lounge area with mezzanine seating above the updated bar.
“Guests can expect updated interiors, enhanced ambience, and a new area to drink, eat and take in the views. With guaranteed seating at the restaurant’s most desirable tables, the exclusive lounge promises a casual, yet elevated space in which to indulge in bottle service, chef-driven cocktails, an expanded wine and bubbles list, as well as whimsical seafood-forward small plates and one-of-a-kind dishes,” as shared in their announcement.
Chef Mike Minor will continue to contribute menu updates since joining The Marine Room last fall. Minor is known for championing sustainable seafood while honoring the restaurant’s classic dishes and introducing diners to new menu items unique to the locale.
The Marine Room is expected to reveal their exciting updates in October. Stay tuned for more by following their Facebook page.
