Fairview Kitchens, a new project from the Maker Kitchens team, is coming soon to Santa Ana.
According to Bennett Goldberg, a partner at Maker Kitchens, the group is waiting on some final power approvals from the city before they can officially get operations rolling at 501 N. Fairview Street.
For those unfamiliar, Maker Kitchens is a leader and pioneer in the ghost kitchen space. The group currently operates five kitchens between Los Angeles and San Diego. However, the new Fairview Kitchens outpost in Santa Ana, is just a part of their major expansion, which six other new locations also on the way, including ventures out of state in Ohio, Nevada, Arizona and, Colorado.
The facility at Fairview will boast twenty kitchens in total–seventeen of which are fully outfitted hot kitchens. The other three are cold prep only spaces. Unlike many ghost kitchen operations, Maker Kitchens do not only rent to delivery and take-out restaurant. While many will certainly make Fairview a home, the group also leases to caterers, farmer’s market vendors, packaged food brands, and other small businesses looking for kitchen space.
For the to-go service restaurants that will be taking up residence, Fairview Kitchens will also feature Maker’s new, propriety 1Delivery ordering system, a digital platform that allows diners to include items from multiple vendors in a single cart and check. Goldberg says the interface will be “like ordering from Amazon.”
