A brand new speakeasy called Poppy’s Office is making its debut later this year in Scottsdale, located at 34522 N. Scottsdale Road #160.

The newest venture from Keeler Hospitality Group will honor the legacy of late founder Paul Keeler, who died in 2021 of Covid-19 complications, according to Mouth by Southwest. Poppy’s Office will sit next to the group’s Liberty Station American Tavern & Smokehouse, with an entrance that will be a replica of Keller’s office. The bar will also offer a rotating selection of “Poppy’s Tacos,” and customers can order food from Liberty Station. Poppy’s Office is expected to open in Summer 2023.

Since Paul’s passing in 2021, his son Matthew Keeler has been promoted from director of operations to CEO. On top of Liberty Station, KHG also owns Spencer’s for Steaks and Chops in Omaha, NE, Market Street Kitchen in Scottsdale, and Keeler’s Steakhouse in Carefree. Before forming KHG, Paul Keeler was named the Vice President of Food & Beverage for Hilton Hotels Corporation in December 1999. Keeler was responsible for Hilton’s strategic planning for food and beverage operations at more than 3,000 hotels in Hilton’s Family of Brands throughout North America.

“Paul was a beloved restauranteur with deep roots in the Cave Creek, Carefree, and Scottsdale communities,” the Keeler Hospitality Group said in a statement at the time of his passing. “His impact on his team members and guests will be treasured for a lifetime to come.”

When Poppy’s Office opens, guests will enter through a secret entryway, like most speakeasies. Once inside, there will be several objects from Keeler’s office and different memorabilia from his life, including his personal desk, lamp, and bookshelves. Paul founded Keeler Hospitality Group in 2003 with the opening of their flagship store Spencer’s, in Omaha.
