Temecula’s Havana Kitchen is headed to the coast to open its second restaurant. SanDiegoVille first reported the Cuban restaurant will open in La Jolla next.

Owner James Torres tells What Now San Diego they are in the process of transforming the former Karina’s Cantina location into the new outpost of Havana Kitchen.

Established in 2006, Havana Kitchen got its start in modest accommodations in Murrieta before landing a restaurant space in Old Town Temecula. Labeled Casual Cuban, Havana Kitchen preserves the culinary traditions and spirited culture of Cuba.

Serving up authentic dishes like Cuban Shredded Beef, Chicken Fricassee, and slow-cooked Roast Pork in Mojo sauce, Havana Kitchen also offers an assortment of freshly made sandwiches like the Original Cubano, empanadas, yuca fries, and plantains. It also serves its own in-house blend of roasted coffee for its Cortadito coffee and signature lattes.

Torres says we can expect Havana Kitchen in La Jolla to open by July 2023. Visit the website for more information.
