Smoke Queen BBQ is opening its first brick-and-mortar location at 12941 9th St in Garden Grove, according to the restaurant’s website. The location is a 70-year-old residential home that is being converted into a commercial restaurant, and aims to open by the end of 2023.

The Smoke Queen herself, Winnie Lee-Lakhani, calls her journey from boredom to full-fledged BBQ restaurant owner “a wild ride” in a recent Facebook post. It said, “It was in the middle of the pandemic and I was looking for something to occupy my time and a distraction. Fast forward 3 years later and we just dropped the third 1000g offset smoker in our brick-and-mortar we are building.”

Smoke Queen BBQ has previously operated as a pop-up vendor at LA’s Smorgasburg, marrying American techniques with Asian flavors for a combination that keeps customers coming back for more. Visit www.smokequeenbbq.com to learn more.
