Kujo Eats, a National City-based eatery that serves halo-halo and other Filipino food, is getting ready to open a second location in the College Area at 6334 El Cajon Boulevard, Suite K7.
Owner Joel Soriano tells What Now San Diego that he expects to open the new site in mid-December. The restaurant will be focused on the college area, where many students from San Diego State University live. It will offer delicious Hawaiian and Filipino dishes. One of them is the halo-halo, a refreshing and colorful Filipino dessert made with a blend of shaved ice, evaporated milk, and a variety of sweet toppings, including beans, fruit, and ice cream.
“Our halo-halo has been hailed as the best in town, and once you take a sip, you’ll understand why,” according to the company’s website. “The combination of flavors and textures is truly one-of-a-kind and will transport you straight to the streets of the Philippines.”
On top of the halo-halo, the restaurant also offers a variety of mouthwatering Filipino dishes, including Lechon Kawali, Sisig, Tortang talong, Daing na Bangus, Lechon Paksiw, Pork Adobo, Chicken Adobo, and various Hawaiian dishes, such as Loco Moco, Garlic Shrimp, Spam Musubi, and BBQ Short ribs. Other dishes expected to be on the menu include BBQ Beef ribs, BBQ pork belly, BBQ chicken- Kujo’s style, lumpia bucket, and spaghetti bucket- Kujo’s style. Soriano tells What Now San Diego this will be a virtual kitchen with no seats. Food will be available via pick-up or delivery through Grubhub, Uber Eats, and Doordash.
