Dutch Bros Coffee, the national coffee chain that has become extremely popular in San Diego, is working on a new location in El Cajon at 801 N 2nd St.

The company’s newest location will move into a vacant site at the Northeast corner of Marline Avenue and 2nd Street, according to signage posted at the site, which is currently under construction. There is no exact timeline for this new Dutch Bros, but it will likely open before the end of the year. The company favors San Diego County and plans to expand into Vista, Escondido, Chula Vista, and National City. These expansion plans come after an incredibly success area debut in Oceanside a few years ago.

When the new El Cajon location opens later this year, customers can expect specialty coffee, smoothies, freezes, teas, an exclusive Dutch Bros Rebel energy drink, and nitrogen-infused cold brew coffee. The Oregon-based company was founded in 1992 by Dane and Travis Boersma and now has more than 870 locations in 17 states.

On top of having delicious food and drink options, the company is committed to giving back to the communities it serves. Recently, Dutch Bros and its customers came together on May 17 for the 18th annual Drink One for Dane to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and its mission to end Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. As a result, the Dutch Bros Foundation has donated $2.5 million to the MDA. The cause runs close to the company’s heart, as founder Dane passed away from ALS in 2009.

“Drink One for Dane wouldn’t be possible without the overwhelming support from our customers every year,” Christine Barone, CEO at Dutch Bros, said in a press release. “We’re honored to make a difference in supporting all of the work the Muscular Dystrophy Association does and continues to do.”
