Founded by South Florida restaurateur extraordinaire Rodney Mayo and Subculture Group, Delray Beach restaurant Dada will soon have a sister concept in Lake Worth Beach. Plan review paperwork was submitted recently for Man Ray, a new restaurant named after the eponymous Dada artist, opening at 522 Lucerne Ave.

Actually, Man Ray is a long time coming. Journalist Joe Capozzi broke the news of Mayo’s plans for Man Ray as far back as September 2022, reporting that both Dada and a new outpost of Mayo’s Subculture coffee shop brand would open in the Lucerne Avenue location, once occupied by The Cottage.

“I always said if there is one location that became available and I would be interested in, it would be The Cottage,’’ Mayo said in Capozzi’s coverage. “It’s not on Lake (Avenue, which is busier). It’s on Lucerne. It looks just like Dada. It’s got the outdoor seats.’’

More information on the menu is not yet available, other than that it will be “eclectic.”

What Now reached out to Mayo on Thursday to inquire about plans for Man Ray. Mayo was not immediately available for comment.
