Chic Chef 77, an upscale wine bar in the heart of Tempe, has closed its doors and is preparing to relocate to downtown at 520 E. Portland St.

Owned and operated by Nik Fields, a celebrity Chef, Chic Chef 77 provides a 200-bottle rotating wine list, craft cocktails, appetizers, and charcuterie boards. Fields first announced on Threads at the end of May that she would close her wine bar at the corner of Apache Boulevard and Terrace Road, with intentions to reopen in July, according to AZ Central. The reopening has since been pushed back to next year, with plans for private events in the near future.

Instead of reopening in its original Tempe space, the company decided to relocate to a larger facility in response to the wine bar outgrowing its site at 1221 E Apache Blvd Suite #104. Now, Fields is planning to relocate to downtown Phoenix and fully renovate a bungalow for the new home of Chic Chef 77. The company’s new location is expected to open in March 2025 and offer various wine options.

When the new drinking spot opens next year, customers can expect a tasting room for tastings and pairings, a private dining room, and a patio. The space will feature lush dark greens, brass fixtures, mirrors, and a baby grand piano. Fields plans to host private events starting in November while the rest of the bar is completed.
