New York-based theater and film company Seaview Productions is taking over ownership of the Tony Kiser Theater at 305 West 43rd Street, with plans to rebrand it to Studio Seaview. The theater will also house a bar, known as The Vault at Studio Seaview, according to recently filed paperwork.
The Tony Kiser Theater has been managed by The Second State Theater Inc. for almost 25 years, but the theater is now permanently closed. Seaview Productions COO Nate Koch filed paperwork for a liquor license at the address this month.
Seaview Productions, founded in 2012, has produced 15 Broadway productions and two major films, according to the paperwork. They are looking to keep the theater alive for the community.
The Vault at Studio Seaview is slated to be located on the second floor along with the theater. The second floor will feature 296 theater seats and 33 bar seats. The proposed menu features wine by the glass, beer by the pint, house cocktails, mocktails and bites like cheese and charcuterie boards.
The proposed hours are 12 p.m. to 2 a.m.
What Now New York reached out to Koch for more information regarding plans and timeline, but he declined to provide more information at this time.
