The popular Mediterranean grill is moving ahead confidently with their ambitious plans for expansion.

Mezeh is a popular fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant on a mission to push the envelope of what fast-casual restaurants are known for. Serving food that is made in-house every day using fresh, natural, and bold ingredients, Mezeh’s unique open kitchen concept enables to guests to watch the talented chefs prepare their meals right in front of their eyes. Highlighting Mediterranean and Halal cuisine, the restaurant derives its name from the Turkish word “meze”, meaning taste or flavor.

The concept is the brainchild of owners Saleh Mohamadi, Steve Walker, and Tai Chiao, who endeavored to provide their customers with fresh, exceptionally crafted Mediterranean food at a great price. Today, the grill is recognized across the country and currently operates more than 40 stores nationwide. In fact, their very first expansion into Manhattan was covered by yours truly last September. Nearly a year later, Mezeh now operates three unique locations across the city. Soon though, Mohamadi and the team will be continuing their expansion with a brand new location for midtown.

Mezeh’s newest outpost will be opening up at 845 Third Avenue, between 51st and 52nd street, less than a block away from the Lexington Avenue subway stop. Mohamadi and the team have secured a 15-year lease for the 1,825 square foot space , which was previously occupied by a Modell’s Sporting Goods. A representative for the building owner, Michael Rudin, said of the deal that he and his team were “excited to welcome Mezeh Mediterranean Grill to 845 Third Avenue. Mezeh will serve as a quality resource for workers and residents in the surrounding Midtown East neighborhood.”

Current estimates put the new grill’s opening in 2023. Interested readers are encouraged to try out Mezeh’s signature bowls and wraps at one of their currently operating locations, which can be found on Mezeh’s website.
