Dutch Bros is set to improve its location at 1802 E Platte Ave. in Colorado Springs, city records reveal. The brand is working with government agencies to seek approval to expand the property for better traffic management.

The coffee chain is acquiring a parcel to the north of this existing location to help increase onsite queueing capacity, according to a project description.

Recommendations include starting the double queue lane about 20-30 feet from the entryway and providing a bailout option from the stacking lanes to the alley.

Founded in 1992 by brothers Dane and Travis Boersma, Dutch Bros was started with a pushcart and an espresso machine. The company has now grown to operate nearly 900 stores in 17 states.
