MetroNational, the privately-held real estate investment, development, and management company, announced the opening of Blacksmith at 820 Gessner Road in the nearly 300-acre mixed-use Memorial City development. The 1,752-square-foot outpost at Two Memorial City Plaza, an 18-story, Class A office tower, marks the second location for the locally-owned and operated coffeehouse.

“Blacksmith’s decision to open a location in Memorial City speaks to MetroNational’s commitment to positioning Memorial City as one of Houston’s top food and beverage destinations,” said Danna Diamond, Vice President of Retail Leasing in a statement. “We are confident that our tenants, residents and visitors will enjoy Blacksmith’s signature coffee and culinary offerings.”

Situated in the lobby of Two Memorial City Plaza, Blacksmith spotlights freshly-brewed coffee and specialty beverages such as lattes, espresso, tea and more. Guests can enjoy hot out of the oven breakfast items such as biscuits, bagels, tacos and kolaches. Lunch options include an assortment of grab-and-go sandwiches, salads and bowls. Blacksmith also offers catering services.

“Our commitment to quality and hospitality mark a perfect fit with MetroNational,” said David Buehrer, Co-Founder of Blacksmith. “We are excited to bring our specialty coffee, breakfast, and lunch items to the greater Memorial community through 820 Gessner.”

Two Memorial City is one of three office towers encompassing the Memorial City Plaza campus, totaling nearly 1 million square feet of Class A office space. In 2022, MetroNational completed an extensive $25 million renovation of the campus, which included a state-of-the-art fitness center, full-service conference center and meeting rooms, and reimagined lobbies. Located at the southeast corner of Gessner Road and Barryknoll Lane, Two Memorial City is centrally located to Memorial City’s various dining, shopping and entertainment offerings.

Blacksmith is among the latest food and beverage concepts to debut at Memorial City. Recent openings include Levi Goode’s inaugural standalone concepts Credence and Sidebar, and Sambrooks Hospitality’s Central Texas-style barbecue concept, The Pit Room and FB Society’s Haywire.

Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 7 am to 4 pm.
