An Italian-inspired eatery is coming to Senatobia.

Cheebo will soon open at 214 W Main St, just east of the axe-throwing venue Woodchucks, which has recently expanded to include a full pizza bar.

Josh and Katie Belenchia, the owners of Buon Cibo—a popular Hernando restaurant known for its pizzas, sandwiches, and salads—are behind this new venture.

In a recent Facebook update, the Belenchias announced the name of their new eatery, explaining that “Cheebo” is a playful nod to the often mispronounced “Cibo.”

“We thought since there’s so much debate over how to pronounce it we’d settle the dispute once and for all,” they joked.

A graduate of New York’s Culinary Institute of America, Josh opened Buon Cibo in 2011 after returning home to Memphis. At the time, Hernando had few dining options, and Josh saw an opportunity to introduce high-quality food to the local community.

While Cheebo’s full menu hasn’t been released yet, diners can anticipate fresh takes on the Italian-inspired dishes that have made Buon Cibo a local favorite.

As of about a month ago, Cheebo was still in the design phase, so renovations on the Main St space should be underway soon.
