It appears the South African chicken restaurant that is moving into the Houston market could open its second location sometime in mid-Spring if all goes according to plan. Nando’s PERi-PERi will be located at 23601 Cinco Ranch Blvd. in Katy, according to a state project filing.

The filing shows the 2,800-square-foot space will get an interior buildout to include new walls and finishes. Nando’s already has one Houston location in the works at 1751 Post Oak Blvd. It is expected to open next spring prior to the Katy location opening its doors to the public.

The restaurant brand is known across the globe for its spicy flame-grilled chicken. Nando’s marinates its chicken for 24 hours before it’s flame-grilled and basted with spices. The menu offers chicken plates, sandwiches, wraps, bowls, salads, and more. Every Nando’s location is designed with earthy textures and vibrant colors to reflect its African heritage.

The Greater Houston area locations will be the first in Texas for Nando’s, and What Now Houston earlier reported that more locations are expected across the Lone Star State in the future.

Nando’s debuted in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1987 and now serves diners in two dozen countries on five continents. Nando’s entered the U.S. market in 2008 and has restaurants in Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Illinois.
