GameCraft Brewing has taken the next step in its plans to expand to Garden Grove.

Earlier this year, the brewery revealed it will open its second location next year. The new location will be in the Farm Block by Cottage Industries LLC., next to Smoke Queen BBQ, and White Elephant.

“Our focus will be on our craft beer and our games experiences,” founder Scott Cebula told What Now.

Last month, GameCraft applied for a Type 23 liquor license. This will allow the brewery to sell its own beer, said Cebula said.

The new location will differ from the Laguna Hills location–founded in 2018– he said. While the Laguna Hills location is large enough to support up to 200 people, the Garden Hill location is much smaller and intimate.

“We expect small groups and families will be regulars,” Cebula said. The Garden Grove location will have a tasting room, private patio and an outdoor area that is shared with other restaurants.

The brewery also expects customers to combine their beer and games with food from neighboring restaurants in the common area, which highlights a common theme for GameCraft.

“We develop spaces where people can slow down, put away their electronics and be present for a while,” Cebula added.

GameCraft expects to receive the property from the developer in late 2022, with an anticipated March or April opening date.
