Filipino cafe chain Cafe 86 announced two new franchises in Greater Sacramento earlier this year. As of now, franchisees Joshua Francisco and Maria Linsangan are still hunting for a suitable location and the Elk Grove store is currently marked as “coming soon” on the brand’s website without a specific opening date.
Cafe 86 is known for its ube-centric menu, featuring items like ube milkshakes, milk tea, truffles, pastries, and desserts. The cafe also serves cupcakes, cheesecakes, sandwiches, and espresso drinks. The company was founded in 2014 by husband-and-wife James and Ginger Dimapasok in Chino, California.
“Ginger and I are thrilled and very much appreciate all the support the community has given us all these years. I am very excited for our new partners to entrench themselves in their respective communities.” James Dimapasok said in a statement.
Cafe 86 currently has a handful of other locations in development across California, including another Sacramento location planned in Roseville by another franchisee. Francisco said he hoped to complete the negotiation for a planned location in the next few months over the phone.
