Bent Oak Winery, the popular local wine producer and tasting room, will soon begin construction on a Cedar Park site at 1900 Hur Industrial Blvd, around six miles northwest of the original Bent Oak Winery at Windy Terrace.

“At Bent Oak, our passion is bringing out the unique qualities from each region we choose as the origin for our wines,” states the winery’s official website.  “From east Texas range, Texas High Plains, California’s Russian River Valley, to the rich volcanic soil of Sonoma Mountain and even our own back yard vineyard, our grapes are hand-picked, carefully sorted, and treated with the utmost care to preserve the essence of terroir from which the grapes originated.”

“From dirt to bottle, our wines speak for themselves, showing distinct character, balance and taste.  Our existential mission is to bring forth to our customers wines of distinction from regions where they are best formed.  While we focus on wine styles consistent with our customer demand, we are unabashed about stepping out of the box to bring forward varietals that are worthy of consideration.”

Apart from selling a carefully curated selection of Texas-based wines, the winery also serves California wines and characteristic small plates such as pecans, jalapeño jelly, hummus, along with classic meat and cheese plates.

What Now Austin reached out to John Catalano, Bent Oak’s owner and winemaker, to inquire about the upcoming development, but he was not immediately available for comment.

Fortunately, public records examined by What Now Austin illuminate key details about the project: the development will cost an estimated $1 million, cover around 7,900 square feet of space, and begin construction in late June. The development is projected to reach completion in November 2023.
