Wetzel’s Pretzels plans to extend its reach in the Orlando area by opening a unit in the Kissimmee Walmart Super Center at 4444 W Vine Street. The brand has several locations open in the Orlando area, most of them are within Disney and in malls.
According to What Now research, the pretzel stand just began construction on January 25th, and the anticipated opening date is May 1st. A recent plan review filing with the state was approved with provisions on January 26th.
Wetzel’s Pretzels features numerous locations within malls, and recently they have begun opening units in individual stores. As QSR reports, the company just opened their first location situated in a Macy’s department store.
The company began in 1994 in California and promptly grew. There are now over 340 bakeries spanning the globe. Their menu is relatively simple, sticking to pretzels, hot dogs, pigs-in-a-blanket and cold lemonade. They offer variations and specialty pretzels like “Pizza Bitz” and the “Sinful Cinnamon.” The company hand-rolls and bakes their pretzels consistently throughout the day for freshness.
