Known for their ice cream desserts, Dairy Queen Grill & Chill is coming to Clermont. The new location is being franchised by Pragneshkumar Patel, who owns six other Dairy Queen locations throughout central Florida.

The forthcoming location will appear along US Highway 27, but Patel didn’t have an address to provide. It will appear in an entirely new construction. Patel shared with What Now on Thursday that the land has already been purchased, but the construction has yet to begin. An anticipated opening date is unknown.

Dairy Queen, which began as a single restaurant in 1940 in Illinois, has grown to 7,000 locations in the US, Canada and 20 other countries. Their ice cream “Blizzard” treats are famously so thick that they can be help upside down without spilling out. Other classic desserts, like banana splits and sundaes, are menu staples as well. For those without a sweet tooth, some food items are burgers, fries and chicken tender baskets.

A plan review filed with the state on February 2nd is still “in process.”
