Sushi Sake, the Miami-based sushi chain, seeks to open its very first Central Florida location at 840 N Orlando Avenue in Winter Park, according to a recent filing with the State of Florida. The restaurant will occupy the space of a former Boston Market.

Founded in 2009 by brothers James and Argelio Jr. Aguayo, Sushi Sake now boasts over 27 locations in South Florida. The chain primarily offers sushi and a wide range of Japanese-influenced dishes such as hibachi and teriyaki platters, along with a range of champagne, liquor and wine selections both national and international.

Seeking to inject a Floridian influence into its offerings, Sushi Sake’s website states “Our South Florida-inspired menu features local favorites such as the Miami Heat roll packed with shrimp tempura, cream cheese, crab salad and topped with baked salmon, spicy mayo and eel sauce. For a Floridian twist on Japanese mainstays, our Pineapple Fried Rice is a crowd favorite.”

What Now Orlando reached out to representatives for the restaurant, but were unable to make contact, likely due to exceptional weather conditions.
