K-Bob, a Korean street food concept, will soon debut in the O Town neighborhood of Orlando, within the new Glasshouse development, according to recent public records. The official address is 11830 Glass House Ln and the restaurant will occupy suite 150.
On April 13, co-owner Giovanni Harris wrote What Now Orlando, articulating his inspiration and vision for the upcoming establishment.
“A little over a year ago I just fell in love with Korean culture so after graduating from Olympia High School I booked a trip to Korea and while I was there I got immersed in the culture and got authentic recipes from the streets of Korea, from BBQ to a korean ice cream to even a sweet pancake with fried chicken and pickles (which sounds absolutely crazy but taste incredible),” Harris says. “I then told my dad I wanted to open a restaurant and at first he thought I was crazy, but here we are in the best real estate in Orlando.”
In outlining the marketing building up to opening, Harris describes an ambitious plan.
“Our grand opening is going to be the biggest ever in the city of Orlando, we will have a minimum of a 4-hour line out the door. We have a 4-phase marketing plan in which we will release our own trailer for the restaurant and also a night we will bring the hottest Orlando influencers in to taste the food.”
“I am unable to confirm the rest of the phases but we already have a lot of traffic ready to eat at K-BOB. We are expected to have 500 people experience K-BOB on a daily basis not only because our food is so good but because we will be the next tourist destination.”
Perhaps what is most impressive about this upcoming development is not just Mr. Harris’s big vision, but his exceptionally young age.
“For a 19 year old kid that graduated from Olympia High School, right down the street, I am extremely excited. I am going to have so much fun bringing Korean Street Food to Orlando.”
No opening date is yet announced, though a link to a newsletter at the bottom of the official website says “Be the first to know our grand opening date and see our delicious food.”
