Father-and-Son Franchisee Team to Open Five Marco’s Pizza Locations in South Florida

The first two will open in Greater Fort Lauderdale this summer, with the remaining locations opening by Q2 2024

With more than 1,150 locations in the United States, pizza chain Marco’s Pizza is continuing on the path to growth. The pizza chain announced this week that it has signed an agreement that will bring five new Marco’s Pizza locations to South Florida. The first two are expected before the end of the summer—at 811 E Commercial Blvd in Oakland Park and at 811 North Nob Hill Rd. in Plantation—with the remaining three locations set to open by Q2 2024.

Behind these five locations are Rodrigo and Enrique Azpurua, a father-and-son entrepreneurial team and first-time Marco’s franchisees.

“This is a dream of building a family legacy in this great country,” Rodrigo Azpurua said in a press release. “Not only do we have the opportunity to grow a family business, but we’ve found the ultimate brand partner to do so with. Marco’s has the perfect recipe of a quality product, a proven business model, impressive statewide brand awareness, and an opportunity to grow a robust portfolio.”

Marco’s currently has more than 130 locations in the state of Florida. Its pizzas come in tried-and-true varieties like the Deluxe, with Pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon, and three cheeses; the Garden, with mushrooms, black olives, onions, sliced tomatoes, and three cheeses, plus feta; and Pepperoni Magnifico. Also on the menu are sub sandwiches in classic flavor profiles like Steak & Cheese, Italiano, and Chicken Club, along with a selection of salads and sides that include Cheezybread, Chicken Dippers, and Chicken Wings.

“As an immigrant entrepreneur, my dad has instilled in me the value of hard work from a very young age,” says Enrique Azpurua. “It’s a privilege to operate as family business, and rest assured, we’ll be working hard. We look forward to becoming part of the community, creating job opportunities, and career pathways. We’re on the fast track to get these five stores up and running to serve our local residents.”
