Lauderdale Lakes Marketplace will soon be home to a new bakery offering favorites from Haitian cuisine. According to submitted plan review paperwork, Cordon Kreyol is preparing to open at 3724 W Oakland Park Blvd.

“It’s going to be a Haitian Kreyol bakery,” Alexandra, a co-owner of the new concept, told What Now on Thursday.

Alexandra says Cordon Kreyol was born during a difficult time, when, following the passing of a loved one, her family was unable to find a Haitian bakery to provide the kind of traditional, familiar foods one turns to at such a time. The goal was to make sure nobody in the area has to do without good Haitian cuisine.

“We wanted to open a place where people can find the quality, really good food.”

The bakery will be serving up Haitian bread, patties, cakes, coffee, and lots of dishes from Haitian cuisine.

“We cook with our heart,” Alexandra said. “We put everything into the cooking.”
