Earlier this year we suspected that New Jersey-based Bubbakoo’s Burritos was opening its first Arizona location at 2649 S. Market St. in Gilbert. It turns out that our suspicions are true. Franchisee Jason Armstrong has come forward as the co-owner of this location, telling What Now Phoenix that they will soft open in mid-May.
Jason owns the Arizona license for Bubbakoo’s Burritos alongside his brother Brian. The Armstrong brothers signed a 15-unit deal with Bubbakoo’s corporate, intending to open as many stores throughout the Valley over the next four to five years.
“Bubbakoo’s Burritos is a fairly new franchise and we like to jump on them when they’re just starting out,” said Jason, who is no stranger to operating franchises. He also operates six Crumbl Cookies stores in the Valley.
Now, he is excited to bring more Bubbakoo’s Burritos locations to the western U.S. There is currently one store in Nevada and two in California. The Armstrongs already have quite a few locations underway in the Valley, including at Cannon Beach and Surprise.
But for now, the focus is on the first store in Gilbert, where they have completed construction and are hiring for most positions. The corporate team will come out in mid-May for training, after which Bubbakoo’s Burritos will soft open starting May 18. A grand opening will follow a month later.
