Mr. Pickle’s Sandwich Shop is headed for Chandler! According to real estate intel obtained by What Now Phoenix, Mr. Pickle’s will be taking over a 1,300 square-foot space at 1949 W. Ray Road in the Boardwalk at Andersen Springs shopping center.
This is one of six locations slated to open throughout the Valley, according to Mouth by Southwest. Mr. Pickle’s is known for a variety of hot and cold sandwiches served with “The Works,” which entails mayo, mustard, garlic sauce, tomato, onion, pickles, pepperoncinis, and lettuce.
The most popular sandwiches include the Mr. Pickle (chicken breast, bacon, monterey jack, avocado, and “the works”) and the Italian (salami, pastrami, ham, provolone, Italian dressing, and “the works”). Customers can order sides of Red Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad, and a Jumbo Whole Dill Pickle.
The chain originated in San Mateo, California, where the first location opened in 1996. Founder Frank Fagundes hit success with his sandwiches, which are packed with a third of a pound of meat, and began franchising stores ten years later.
Representatives for the Valley-area Mr. Pickle’s Sandwich Shops could not be reached for comment. An opening date for Chandler has not been announced, but most locations are expected to open through the end of the year.
