A former Mexican restaurant in the French Quarter is about to get a new life, as permit filings reveal Nas Bar & Restaurant is coming to 833 Conti St. According to filings with the City of New Orleans, Nas will take over from the former Cuñada located less than a block from Bourbon Street.

The new restaurant will largely maintain the same layout as the former tenant. Guests walking in can either visit the full bar to their right or be seated in a long narrow dining area with table seating for about 35 guests. Filings also revealed an adjacent food mart will be located next door at 835 Conti St.

Cuñada was a popular Mexican spot for its homemade tortillas and margaritas made with fresh-squeezed juices. The restaurant also offered a wide variety of tequila and mezcal.
