Local chain Apollo Bagels is planning its newest expansion, this time heading to the Financial District.
The bagel chain has plans to open a location this year at 41 John Street, according to a recent Instagram announcement.
The bagel chain is relatively new as a brick-and-mortar, opening its first location in East Village in early spring of last year after serving as a pop-up around the city for a couple years. Founders Joey Scalabrino and Mike Fadem have added two more locations since then: one in West Village and one in Williamsburg. The spot in the Financial District will be the fourth for the brand.
The menu is relatively simple, featuring plain, everything and sesame bagels. Customers can buy bagels with butter, cream cheese or jam. Other menu offerings include bagel sandwiches like smoked salmon, cream cheese, caper, red onion and dill.
Scalabrino also owns Leo, a pizza spot in Brooklyn.
