Cookie Plug is celebrating the announcement of its newest location, coming to Mission Viejo. A recent press release from the brand states that the bakery will be opening at 27760 Santa Margarita Parkway in the Portola Plaza.
The Mission Viejo store is owned and operated by Lake Forest resident Mani Mirzazadeh, with support from his wife, Hoda. Having immigrated to the U.S. in 2015 from the UK, Mirzazadeh has pursued various entrepreneurial opportunities. In 2021, his experience as a business owner inspired him to invest in Cookie Plug.
“We are excited to share the opening of our first Cookie Plug store in the lively city of Mission Viejo. Our journey from the UK to the US, marked by determination and resilience, underscores our commitment to pursuing our dreams. The experiences and successes we have encountered along the way have not only enriched our lives but also reinforced our belief in the power of dreams,” he shared with What Now OC. “As we continue to grow and expand, we remain dedicated to embracing new opportunities and sharing our journey with others, proving that with hard work and passion, the American Dream is attainable for all.”
Located next to Trabuco Hills High School, Cookie Plug’s new Mission Viejo location is perfectly situated in a high-traffic area, surrounded by other popular retailers. The 872-square-foot space will undergo $200,000 in renovation work, construction documents state.
The shop will serve its signature “thicc” cookies to local dessert lovers. It will be open Sunday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Customers can enjoy pickup, delivery, and catering services.
Founded in Riverside, California, in 2019, Cookie Plug combines hip-hop culture, street art, and sweet treats. It’s known for its 12 flavors of oversized cookies that combine the textures of cake, brownie, and cookie. Keto-friendly options and the Smash Sack mini cookies are also available.
