J. Alexander’s, a contemporary American restaurant focusing on quality food, attentive service, and consistent experiences, has proposed a new location in Gilbert, northwest of Santan Village Parkway and Williams Field Road.

The restaurant was recently announced as one of several proposed locations for Signature at SanTan Village, which is currently under construction, first reported by East Valley Now. On top of J. Alexander’s, other tenants proposed for the development include Whole Foods Market, Crate & Barrel, House of Sport, Chewy, Starbucks, Fogo de Chao, and Fidelity. These tenants would join the recently opened SanTan Village, which includes Firebirds, North Italia, Flower Child, Living Spaces, and more.

If this location does happen, it will be the only J. Alexander’s in Arizona, as the Tennessee-based chain closed its Scottsdale location at 6186 North Scottsdale Road in 2013. The restaurant opened in this location in the fall of 2008, offering straightforward American fare, such as burgers, sandwiches, buttermilk onion rings, aged prime rib, and white chocolate cheesecake. Currently, J. Alexander’s can be found in 14 states, and hopefully, it will be in 15 soon.

Kensington has recently received final unanimous approval from the planning commission for Signature at SanTan Village, a 30-acre joint development in collaboration with SanTan Development Group. The development will feature Whole Foods and Dick’s House of Sport as its main anchors and is located next to the SanTan Village Mall. There are also opportunities for junior anchors, as well as entertainment, retail, and restaurant spaces. However, it remains unclear when the newly announced tenants will open, as many are still in the proposal stage.
