The Trough Sandwich Kitchen, a fast and casual sandwich spot in Southern California, is preparing to open its first Arizona location in Tempe at 1151 S Forest Ave.

The company’s third location is set to open on Arizona State University’s main campus, according to Kobra Design, the Architectural Designer behind the project. Tony Monaco tells What Now Phoenix that this location is expected to open in May or June 2025, offering the same delicious sandwiches found at the Orange County locations. The Trough Sandwich Kitchen offers at least 20 different sandwich options made with the freshest ingredients.

The Trough Sandwich Kitchen takes pride in providing a friendly and welcoming staff to ensure customers enjoy a spectacular meal in a quick, casual, and comfortable environment. The new ASU location will feature the same menu as the first two sites, which includes a variety of breakfast options and sandwiches. One of the more popular menu items is the Cali Cowboy sandwich, made with roasted chicken breast, applewood smoked bacon, leaf lettuce, tomato, and ranch dressing on sourdough bread. In addition to sandwiches, The Trough Sandwich Kitchen offers bowls, salads, wraps, sides, drinks, and even a secret menu available exclusively to VIPs.

“The Trough Sandwich Kitchen in Rancho Santa Margarita, Anaheim, and Irvine, CA prepares top-quality sandwiches filled with flavor and an exciting twist,” according to the company’s website. “Brought to you by the masterminds behind the swanky speakeasy-style restaurant, The Blind Pig, The Trough Sandwich Kitchen is a fast and casual dining spot where you can get in and out on your lunch break and have a better quality sandwich than at some other sandwich stops.”
