Krispy Boyz, the home of the original birria mac ‘n’ cheese taco, is getting ready to open in a commercial ghost kitchen in Bario Logan at 2707 Boston Avenue, Suite 19.
The fast-casual eatery is already found at Farmer’s Markets throughout San Diego, including in Otay Ranch, La Jolla, Ocean Beach, and Oceanside. Now, co-owner Flynn Anderson is getting ready to take the next step by opening in the Bario Food Hub. Anderson tells What Now San Diego that he hopes to open this location in the first week of February. This is a massive step for the owner, who hopes to eventually open a food truck or a brick-and-mortar.
While the company has big dreams, Krispy Boyz is focusing on expanding from farmer’s markets to a ghost kitchen, providing them with a more permanent location. The owner says he plans to enhance the menu by introducing new mac ‘n’ cheese flavors and adding french fries. Although the popular Krispy Boyz Fried Chicken sandwich is available on their website, it is not offered at the farmer’s markets. Anderson says the gourmet chicken sandwich will be included on the menu at their Barrio Logan location. Additionally, they will introduce a new sampler to the menu.
