A brand new concept called 1888 is getting ready to make its debut in Oceanside, located at 301-307 N Coast Hwy.

This is the latest from Travis Lester, the owner behind Piña Encinitas, according to a liquor license application from last year that is still pending. Lester declined to provide details to What Now San Diego, saying the company is not ready to discuss further. It’s also unclear exactly where 1888 will open, but these addresses contain a few closed businesses, including H & M Military Supplies and the Men’s Shop on the corner of Coast Hast Hwy and Pier View Way.

While details about the new concept remain limited, expectations are high for the upcoming venture, 1888. Travis Lester and his business partner Justin Safier launched the Los Angeles-based Broseph’s Restaurant Group. Together, they created several establishments, including Brick + Mortar in Santa Monica, Greenbelt in Hermosa Beach, and Bar Esquina in Cabo San Lucas.

The new Oceanside concept marks a return to Lester’s roots, as he was born and raised in the area. Before founding Broseph’s Restaurant Group, Lester played college football at Pittsburg State University in Kansas. He later moved to San Francisco, where he began a career in finance, only to realize his passion for opening restaurants. This decision led him on a journey throughout Southern California and Mexico. Now, he is poised to open a brand new restaurant concept in his hometown.
