Dickey’s Palm Springs Changing Owners, Reopening

The BBQ brand has some internal changes happening.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Palm Springs is marking a new chapter with a re-opening under the ownership of a different operator. Located at 5200 Ramon Rd, a recent press release announced the eatery will be run by franchisee Shinder Singh.

Singh is a seasoned entrepreneur with a background in owning gas stations, hotels, and restaurants, including a Firehouse Subs franchise. A 2016 article states that he was previously an owner of the establishment, but appears to have sold it before now returning.

Singh told What Now OC he was not immediately available for comment.

The company’s website states that Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has been a staple of Texas-style barbecue since its founding in 1941 by Travis Dickey in Dallas. Over the decades, the brand has expanded significantly, now operating over 500 locations across 44 states.

The restaurant is known for its signature hickory-smoked meats and Southern-style sides. offers dine-in, takeout, delivery, and catering services. This location won Nextdoor’s Neighborhood Fave award in both 2023 and 2024.
