Lord Fletcher’s, a unique English-style restaurant that stood as a Coachella Valley landmark for more than 50 years, is making a comeback. The Desert Sun reports the business, located at 70385 Highway 111 in Rancho Mirage, is under new ownership.
Founded by Ron Fletcher, the iconic restaurant originally opened in 1966. Over the years it gained a following from high-profile people like Frank Sinatra, according to the CV Independent. It unfortunately closed during the pandemic, and it was originally announced it would not reopen.
It was recently acquired by Life & Times Hospitality, a group that is known for operating The Red Dog Saloon and Pioneertown Motel in Pioneertown, as well as The Copper Room in Yucca Valley. It’s a family business, run by Mike and Matt French.
Mike told What Now OC, “We are currently in the very early phases, but will reach out as soon as we have something material to share.”
The establishment hosted dinner service Tuesday through Saturday. There is no word on what the operating hours or menu will look like when the business reopens, but the old Lord Fletcher’s had menu favorites included Barbecued Beef Ribs, Roast Chicken, Scottish Salmon, and English Rice Pudding.
