Popularized by The Country Club in the Bywater, the restaurant-with-a-pool concept appears to be gaining traction as one is being planned for 4917 Freret St., according to permit filings with the City of New Orleans. City documents indicate that the Uptown concept will have a restaurant and cafe on the building’s first floor and offices upstairs. There will also be a 32-foot by 12-foot in-ground swimming pool behind the building. The project from local developers Barrett Cooper and Zach Kupperman is currently in the permitting phase. Neither an opening date nor name for the restaurant has been announced. What Now New Orleans has reached out for more details.

Earlier this month, What Now New Orleans reported on another restaurant concept being planned for a Tremé mansion on Esplanade Avenue. Called Lost Coyote, the restaurant is hoping to appeal to both locals and tourists staying at nearby accommodations that do not have a pool.
