San Diego-based pizzeria Mr. Moto Pizza has another location on its list of upcoming venues: The Square in Irvine. The business’s website advertises a new shop coming to 17925 MacArthur Boulevard, right by John Wayne Airport.

The upcoming restaurant is part of a larger expansion into Orange County, which What Now OC has previously covered, including Costa Mesa, The Village at Orange, and another Irvine location in the Oak Creek neighborhood. All listed as “coming soon”, they will join the company’s six San Diego stores and its two out-of-state outposts in Nevada and Arizona.

This specific location at The Square, a busy shopping complex in town, will join a number of other retailers. The website for the center’s landlord, Irvine Company, shows that other tenants include OC Smile Dental, U.S. Bank, Carl’s Jr., Cluck Kitchen, Croutons, Flame Broiler, Jersey Mike’s Subs, and Starbucks.

Mr. Moto’s Marketing Director Jorge Moreno told What Now OC the location is currently “a few months out” from opening. He said the brand, which was founded in 2015, is “bringing back the old New York pizzeria experience with a fresh and original twist”.
