Bagizza is ready to bring a new twist on the classic New York bagel when it opens this spring at 424 Madison Avenue.
The spot will focus on combining bagels and pizza, chef and bagel roller Alex Baka told What Now New York. The concept aims to bring a modern take on a bagel shop to the area.
“In the area there aren’t a lot of different bagel shops right now,” Baka said. “It’s an empty space for a bagel store.”
The New American-style spot will also serve coffee, Baka said. Customers can expect hand-rolled kettle baked bagels and pizza flagels with customizable toppings.
“We’re using bagel dough to make as many things as possible like a bagel, a roll, a gyro, a panini. They’ll all be based on bagel dough,” Baka said.
Baka said they are currently in the construction stage and anticipate an early April opening.
