Marius Blake, a Memphian with roots in the Springdale neighborhood, is preparing to introduce a brand-new sandwich shop at 1111 Springdale St. While the shop’s name is still in the works, he’s leaning towards Lounge 1111.
An entrepreneur at heart, Blake owns a plethora of successful eyebrow-threading shops in the area. Driven by a desire to spread joy through food, he’s now making his mark in the culinary world. As he passionately puts it, “I’m going to feed people every day, three times a day.”
Drawing inspiration from his extensive travels, Blake’s sandwich shop will exude a welcoming, lounge-like atmosphere. The menu will feature a range of classic options, including favorites like hamburgers and pork chop sandwiches. In addition, Blake is committed to offering a variety of vegan items and is in the process of creating three distinct, veggie-heavy sandwiches.
To ensure the highest quality ingredients for his plant-based bites, he’s recently made a significant investment in a greenhouse. The greenhouse will allow him to grow an assortment of fresh, leafy greens, catering to the needs of his veggie-loving customers.
While an official opening date is still pending, Blake hopes to welcome guests in December 2023 or January 2024. His commitment to the community shines through in the sandwich shop, which is poised to become a must-visit destination for meat and veggie enthusiasts alike.
