The Hernando location of Coffee Central is about to undergo a major transformation.

Tina Tatum, owner of Coffee Central at 39 W Commerce St, recently announced that the café will soon be rebranded as The Baker’s Corner, a gluten-free business led by local entrepreneur Leslie King. King will be relocating from her current spot on Hwy 51 South to take over the business.

Tatum shared her excitement for the change, stating: “While we’re passing the torch in Hernando, you can still enjoy our delicious coffee and specialty drinks served at The Baker’s Corner, along with their delicious gluten-free treats and expanded breakfast + lunch menu!”

Patrons will still be able to savor the same coffee menu featuring Ethnos Coffee Roasters blends and visit for their favorite activities—whether that’s coffee dates, work sessions, meetings, or Bible studies.

The menu, however, will expand, offering a variety of fresh treats, along with breakfast and lunch options. Fans of Coffee Central favorites like sausage balls, avocado toast, quiche, and açaí bowls can expect these beloved items—just modified to be gluten-free and celiac-safe.

And while Coffee Central’s Hernando location is transitioning, the original café at 5627 Getwell Rd will remain open.

Though an official reopening date has not yet been announced, The Baker’s Corner team is currently in the process of moving into their new space and expects to open “very soon.” Be sure to follow the shop on Facebook and Instagram for the latest news.
